Skill #1

I have 18 months until I turn 30. While pondering on this fact and life in general I thought by now I should have some super excellent defined skills, areas of true accomplishment. I have a lot of hobbies but not a great deal of true talent that I would consider myself an artist of impeccable skill at. I have some areas with a little work I could get there and some areas I'd like to learn skills in. So this is the jumping off point in gaining some desired expertise.

The first skill I'm going to take a stab at improving is cooking/baking. My husband recommended this saying it will benefit all. I am not bad at it I just don't stray away from my favorite recipes very often. I'd be happy eating the same thing day after day. We don't have a large food budget so I can't get too crazy but I can definitely grow my list of favorites and gain some mad skills (fingers crossed).

My first chosen dish (if you can call it that) is the delicious red velvet cake. I had a room mate at Snow who made it once (the only time I've ever had it) and I've been begging for the recipe ever since. It must have been a family secret because I've yet to receive it. No worries, I'll just try out a few recipes until I find one that is to die for. My deadline is February 14th- Valentine's Day- also knows as my dear brother-in-law Austin's birthday. Red velvet cake is his favorite. I'll be picking up the supplies I need tomorrow and make my first attempt soon after. I'll post an update at that point. Thank you for joining me for this small adventure. This is Lisa signing out.
